VMWare Infrastructure Server usb memory key
The newest vmware server uses a web interface, which doesn’t show very clearly how to connect a usb flash memory drive to the guest OS.
When inserting the flash drive, you should see a usb symbol 
show up next to the reset symbol 
in the “VMWare infrastructure web access” page. Make sure you are selected onto the guest OS in question - i.e. select the guest os in the Inventory left panel .
Click on the symbol, and then check mark on the empty box. This will send the usb connection over to the guest os.
