Lenovo power configuration permission issue

This is an annoying setting that I’ve seen on all Lenovo laptops - only the administrator has permissions to change the power saving features of the laptop - and the changes that the administrator account makes only affect the administrator user, not globally.   Using a non-privileged user gives a “permission denied” error when attempting to change the power settings.   Easiest way so far to fix this is to use the registry and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\

Find the PowerCfg folder and right-click and go to “permissions” .  Click on Add , and add a user or group - i.e. “Users” or “Authenticated Users” .  Then give full control to the added user.   You might also need to click on “Advanced”  and remove the checkmark on “Inherit from parent ….”  , and also might as well put a checkmark on “Replace permission entries on all child objects…”
