Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

As of May 21, 2010, Google changed their title page to have an operationally functional pacman game.   World GDP dropped 5% as a result of the worlds’ population wasting their work day playing the game.

VMWare fusion TP autoconnect printer problem

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I had a problem with a TP Autoconnected printer that appeared fine, but would not pass any jobs to the mac queue from the vm fusion windows.    The solution was to log onto the vm fusion windows with an administrator level account - allow the tp autoconnect to create the printers, then log off, and log in as the non-admin user.   At that point the printers showed up properly and printed properly.

gphpedit v0.9.91

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Tried it under ubuntu 64bit.   Looks nice….  but doesn’t save,  doesn’t even give an error message.   At this point, it’s too early to trust it for general use. Also $ dollar signs do not work as passwords in php/mysql combos.

Bistro Express Manufacture code - expiry date

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

BISTRO EXPRESS® Rice.

The first number of the freshness code indicates the year the product was produced, the second and third numbers indicate the week of the year it was produced. The remaining numbers or letters are for internal manufacturing purposes. Below is an example.

912DM41
(the 9 = year 2009)
(the 12 = the 12th week of 2009

12/10; The first two numbers “12″ refer to the week of the year. The next two numbers “09″ refer to the year.  Therefore, the sample code above indicates that this product will be best if fed before Dec. 2010.

The freshness depends upon how the product is stored. If our products are stored properly they remain fresh for 52 weeks

mysql import notes to myself

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

excel spreadsheets exported to csv does not import properly into linux mysql.   Symptoms are that it only imports one line.  I suspect the dos text carriage return differences is the culprit.    Solution,  load the csv file into the OpenOffice spreadsheet, then export as a csv again.
