We’ve been seeing this problem in Dell Vostro computers with windows 7, where the DHCP retrieved address contains a second invalid gateway of 0.0.0.0 . Sometimes disabling and renabling the network card works, but the problem reappears eventually. Apparently, the long term solution is to disable a service called:
##Id String1.6844F930 _1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762## - Apple computer
To do this, one way is to click on Start –> Run –> type in msconfig , press enter
Go to the Services tab, locate that service name ##Id_String etc etc## , and remove the checkmark.
The network connection should immediately start working again.
